DERBY 3RDS 0 - BELPER 3RDS 2
On a cold day, we needed to fill our Saturday before our 4pm start. 5 of our team played other games, Rach enjoyed a junior engineers fair, Kerry baked a Christening cake, and some of us filled our time with housework. Our umpire played two games before umpiring for us. What commitment, and thanks Chris.
We enjoyed a very even first half, battling all round the pitch, and although we conceded a few penalty corners, also created several attacking chances. It was good to have Shez back, and also Jo, who linked up well with her. A cheerful half time where we celebrated our strong efforts thus far.
Unfortunately, their team talk obviously pushed them further forward, and although we held firm for a while, their attacks became more direct and they scored a good first goal. This meant we had to push up and try to get an equaliser and were unlucky on two occasions before their forwards stole metres on our defence to score a second. This was not a week to mention individuals, as we worked hard but fell short in the second half, with only Ella stronger in the later stages.
MOM votes were : 1 each to Odders, Alex, Ella and Jo. 2 to Val and won by Rachel with 3.
