DERBY 3RDS 0 - MATLOCK 3RDS 0 So, what was good about today? We had Jan, Steph and Ella back, and Charlotte on the team sheet again. AND we won a point! Also once Matlock donned bibs we could tell one team from the other. However, first half we looked a bit like a team of strangers as we struggled to put attacking play together, and settled for one good shot from Jules, while Gemma saved us several times. Second half a different team took to the pitch and we pinned Matlock into their own half, creating chances, but sadly unable to capitalise. The young legs of Charlotte and Ella raced around and inspired us, but still we couldn't manage to win a penalty corner or score. However, the defence stood strong to successfully defend against their attacks and we managed our first scoreless draw of the season. Two of their players received cards for niggly fouls, as our umpires kept great control of the game. Every point counts and a clean sheet is credit to Gemma and her defence. Ashbourne next week as we finish the season against the lower placed teams. MOM votes : 0 for Rach (what does she have to do to buy a vote?!!) 1 each for Ella and Jackie, 2 for Gemma while Charlotte stole it with an unflattering 5. Val
