DERBY 3RDS 0 - MATLOCK 2NDS 1
I can't believe it's 8 pm on a Saturday, and having eaten a whole teams worth of refreshments (with a few friends!), delivered Jules's kit, and had a shower now find time for the report. This was our first real challenge this season, to which we raised our game considerably. It remained an even tussle throughout the first half, where Matlock had more possession, but without too much end product, and that they had was handled competently by Odders in goal. Theresa, got spoken to by the "Eye candy umpire", swoon. (sorry Dan, but he won the looks stakes!)
A positive team talk and off we went into battle again. The game continued much as before, until, we allowed them a quick hit out. With players out of position, they attacked in numbers and I had the misfortune of scoring the only goal of the game. Sorry Odders, only I could beat you today. The mood of the game changed then, with some strange umpiring, which saw T and Alex green carded, and an argument between umpires. Here Mr Nice umpire lost our support and respect and Dan came out on top of the umpire charts. Great decisions and good temper control.
Thanks Dan for umpiring and to our loyal fan club.
MOM votes were well spread. 1 each for Rach, Jan, Jackie and Ruth. 2 for GK Odders, 2 for Super Steph, but a convincing 4 for Elegant Ella.
