After a week of unavailability which culminated in us fielding 4 teams with no goal-keepers, we must all thank Odders, Jackie and Gill who made our games possible by playing that position. With Odders moving to the firsts, she riskily left Jackie and I in charge of the 3rds. Such pressure!
Belper fielded several juniors in their squad while we relied as usual on experience! We were 2 ahead early in the game with Jan getting both, poaching rebounds at penalty corners. Jules added a third before half time following a great run to the back line by Lucy and pull back to the penalty spot.
In the second half we struggled to raise the pace and let Belper into the game. We scored number 4 when Becky capped a strong performance following up after good work by Jules. Sadly, lack of marking at the back let Belper score a consolation goal near the end. Frustration was all around with iffy umpiring, but we proved our dominance beating this team for the second time this season.
