Club Training

Official Club Training starts this week with the Ladies Section training on Mondays and the Mens Section Thursday evening. Monday session is 7.00 til 8.00 and Thursday session is 6.30 til 7.30. There will be a doodle poll to complete to book as we need to ensure no more than 30 attend the session and also track and trace. Link is as follows

Hockey Event & Sale 29th August

Mad Dogs are holding an event on 29th August where there will be hockey reps with all sorts of goodies to look at and buy at discounted prices.. Also mouth guard supplier SAFEJAWZ will be there.

Introduction to Hockey Coaching Course – 15th September at Belper Hockey Club

England Hockey is running this course at Belper. If you would like to get involved in coaching this is a good course to go on. It will develop you to coach hockey with confidence ensuring that the sessions you take are safe, suitable and inspiring for the players you coach. Coaches will gain practical ideas on how to deliver fun, exciting and dynamic games to facilitate effective learning environments and understanding that THE GAME IS THE TEACHER, THE PITCH IS THE CLASSROOM, THE COACH IS THE FACILITATOR. Pre-season Training

Pre-season starts 13th and 14th August and will run throughout August. 7pm til 8.30pm. Ladies section on Tuesday and Mens section on Wednesday.Sessions will be mixture of fitness and games.

Derby HockeyFest - Saturday 7th September

This will be a mixture of mini games running from 1pm to 4pm. It will then be followed by a Club Social Event. We will also have club socks for sale (£6.50), Rainbow laces (£2.50) and taking orders for Club Hats. There will also be sample of the new hoodies, waterproof jackets and social shirts.

Summer Hockey

On the 22nd June saw the mixed team take on the Buxton mixed tournament.

Despite a member of the team not showing up and another ending up in Burton. The derby team put on a good show and won there first match 4-0. After a cracking start and winning the following couple, we were unfortunate not to carry on the winning streak which saw ourselves on the road to home. Never the less everyone did themselves proud and a cracking day out.

Results.
Buxton Fawns 4-0 won
Leek 3-1 won
Buxton 4-1 won
Macclesfield we lost 2-1
Harlequins lost 4-3

This weekend the 29th June saw the mix team travel to Atherstone for a different type of tournament - Rush Hockey!

Arriving at the venue not really knowing what we had got ourselves into, playing on a 1/3 of a pitch, being 5 a side, having no goalie and scoring from anywhere on the pitch. What could go wrong!

We played some fantastic hockey and all coped with the scorching heat! We came 3rd in tournament.
