Junior academy under 12s enjoy first tournament of the season
Thanks to Barton for hosting today, a most enjoyable fixture seeing our under 12s play 3 games with 2 draws and 1 loss
0- 0 vs ashbourne
0-1 vs Beeston
0- 0 vs Barton
Great opportunity today for the team to focus upon positional play, marking, and passing.
Fabulous to hear by the third game the team calling to each other "pass back" " one, twos", " I've got this one, you take that one" , some much improved game and positional awareness on show by the end of the session.
In all games we were unlucky not to score, with a number of chances created that required some excellent keeping from our opposition to keep us out. Congratulations to James playing his first game in goal today who kept the score down at our end with help from Alyssa and Jamie in defence. Great to hear a keeper at that young age confident enough to call out instructions to his defence and boss the D.
Great link up play up front between Helen and Mia, with good covering back and breaks up front from the midfielders Josh, Riley and Cameron.
Another most enjoyable morning. Thanks to the parents for their support and encouargement of the team, and of course Julie for coaching.
